About Us | Stafford Remembered

About Us

This site is dedicated to Staffordians all over the world that have fond memories of our little County Town. We welcome your contributions of photo’s, your memories and experiences. Feel free to come in and stay a while. In November 2010 I was involved in a conversation with Super Radio Stafford’s very own Mark McMahon at the wake of the well known and popular, Stafford born tattooist, Gary Sutton. This conversation lasted many hours as we reminisced with old friends.  I thought for days about our conversations and decided to create a facebook group called plainly “Riverside Centre Disco’s”. After just a couple of days the group grew to more than a hundred and the posts had moved on to other topics such as local youth hangouts and other night spots.

I then changed the name of the page to “Stafford Remembered – youth of the 70’s and 80’s – Stafford uk. The group has grown tenfold and in just a few weeks the group has more than a thousand members and is still growing.  Age range is massive. Staffordians from all over the world have been contributing to the group and there are well over 700 photo’s that have been added.
Because of the popularity of the group  Chris Emery has provided this website.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed and helped in keeping Stafford Remembered alive. Special thanks to all contributors on the Facebook site for providing us with the inspiration for this web page and to Gary Sutton, may he rest in peace.

Stafford Remembered’s reunion theme 2012 will be ‘All School Reunion’ so get in touch with old school friends and use this event to hold your reunion. You don’t just have to meet up with old school friends, thanks to such places as Riverside Centre, Top of the World and social clubs we had the opportunity to meet lots of people in our youth so why not come to this event and meet up with old friends to catch up on the last 30+ years.
